Zoo and Columbus Halloween

10/25/09
Henry Vilas Zoo was having a Halloween day where you could see the animals and collect candy at the same time. We though it fitting that Isaac was a lion for the event.
The lion ready to hunt for some candy.
Mommy and her lion cub walking to the zoo.
Just like the picture because of his ear sticking out of the costume.
Isaac got to touch his first snake. He liked it. Notice that the lady lets you touch the snake and then immediately give you hand sanitizer. That is some good planning.
The animal carousel ride. Isaac went on it a couple of times.
Much to Isaac's delight they had a train that went through a portion of the zoo.
Isaac watched the train more than the animals that your suppose to be looking at during the ride.
Some friends of ours from church. Their little girl Mya.
Their older girl was Minnie Mouse for Halloween.
Another round on the carousel, this time on an ostrich.
A huge porcupine eating a pumpkin.
A red panda, looks kinda like a raccoon.
Bucky Badger showed up. Isaac loves Bucky but was a little nervous to be sitting on his lap.
Isaac took his nap on the way out to Columbus for his first round of Trick or Treating. He wasn't quite awake yet when we began to collect candy. As you can see he is less than enthusiastic about walking around in a pumpkin costume.
I carried him to the first couple of houses. Here is bunny Grace leading the way.
This house had a motorized spider in the yard. Isaac was curious and wanted to touch it.
Isaac eating some of his candy. I think he ate the candy from the first five houses before he could get to the next house. We eventually had to tell him to stop eating it all or he would get a stomach ache.
The candy collection crew. Bunny Grace, Ninja turtle Sawyer, white ninja Logan, pumpkin Isaac, and Evan in a hot air balloon. Evan got the most responses as people thought that he was either from the movie "Up" or mimicking the fake news story about a kid trapped in a weather balloon.
Isaac doing a little dance in a big pile of leaves.
Doing the "pumpkin dance."
Too cute!
Jumping in more leaves.
Daddy giving Isaac a gummie "toe."

Entertainment provided by Isaac #2

During this time we had started potty training. Here are two stories from the early stages of training. The first one is from one of the first times he pooped in the potty. For some reason Isaac likes to look at his poopies after he is done. So as a reward for going on the potty he gets to see his poopies and flush them down the toilet.

Isaac looking into the toilet. "That's a big poopy....My butt hurts Daddy."

The second comes from the fact that we were trying to catch him before he pooped in his diaper so if we smelled something bad we would tell Isaac to stop running around so that we could "check" him which meant looking in his diaper to see if he had done his business yet. One afternoon as I was just about to take the dog for a walk, Stanley tooted and it smelled really bad. Heather joking stated " Isaac... Daddy smells."
Isaac responds "I'm gonna check you." Which he proceeds to try to look down the back of my pants to see if I pooped them.
Isaac- "I can't see your butt daddy."

Pumpkin Pals

10/20/09
I brought our pumpkin costumes to Eva's house during one of their playdates. The pumpkin pals share a hug.
Eva didn't like wearing the hat.
How can a kid not look adorable in a pumpkin costume?

Birthday Presents

10/18/09
Isaac enjoying some of his birthday gifts. Along with some early Halloween candy sent by Matt and Tyra.
Thomas the train and friends.
Oooo Garbage truck. This toy is a little creepy. It makes noise when you play with it, which in itself is fine, but Heather and I will be about to go to sleep when the truck will start going off by itself when nothing has disturbed it. Nothing like a fear to put you to sleep at night. Always starts the nightmares off on the right foot.

Isaac's 2nd Birthday Party

10/11/09
A pre-party nap to gather his energies for the upcoming fun.
Sawyer with the horse costume.
Thomas the train was the theme of the party. Thomas is Isaac's favorite toy.
Grace looking cute and innocent eating her cake.
Gwen taking a snooze at the party.
Eva enjoying Isaac's tools.
"Really, I can touch the cake?"
Isaac is a little shy in this photo. What you don't see is the 20 or so people looking at him while this picture is being taken.
Present time! After he opened each gift he immediately wanted to play with the toy. This created some problems when we kept taking them away and giving him new unopened gifts. Little did we know that each toy given to a 2 year old is required to have a minimum of 27 twist ties attaching it to a piece of cardboard, at least that what it seems like. At one point we had at least four adults trying to undo twist ties to free them from the cardboard packaging.

Daddy and Mommy helping Isaac with his presents.
A Thomas the train flash light.
Cutie Eva posing for the camera.
We asked Eva to give Isaac a kiss for his birthday.
He wasn't sold on the idea of kissing a girl.
Eva is denied a kiss, but gets a hug instead.
The guys watching football.
Grandpa and Grandma with Isaac.
Matt and Tyra with Isaac.
Grandpa and Nonnie with Isaac.
Evan, Sawyer, Logan, and Grace jumping on Isaac's bouncy house.
We liked Jacob's face in the background of the picture.
