Grandpa and
Nonnie (Grandma Jacob) bought a neat little water toy for Isaac. It sprays water in a circle that he can play in. When I first put him in there he gasped because the water was cold and started to cry. Grandpa came to the rescue and attached the hose to a indoor faucet where he made the water warm for Isaac. Now, I know I am getting old and losing some of my childhood memories but I can pretty much guarantee that my parents never attached a sprinkler to a warm water faucet so that it wouldn't be too cold. This is not the first sign that Isaac is going to be spoiled by both sets of grandparents, only the most recent.

Isaac enjoying his water jail. When he was ready to crawl out the water kept squirting him in the face so he would move back into the center of the circle. After about five attempts to leave the circle he started getting frustrated. I helped him out by blocking the water from hitting him in the face so he could escape. Freedom!

While the grandparents were watching Isaac we got to slip away and enjoy the sun on the Mississippi river. Here is Heather lounging in the sun.

Mike and Alicia joined us for a few beverages, tunes, sun, and a few more beverages.

Alicia's sister Melinda and her dog Maggie also made there first trip to
Onalaska and boating on the Mighty Miss.

Maggie drying off after a dip in the river. She managed to soak the entire back half of the boat with her version of the twist. Melinda was not quite quick enough with the towel.

Mike and I at the sand bar. Can you tell where I forgot to put sunscreen. Hint: Look for the extremely red areas around my neck. Plus, checkout that farmer's tan.

After about 4 hours on the river we
received a call from Gary and Margo's neighbors saying their boat broke down and they needed a tow back to the docks. "Team Sunburn" to the rescue. Here is the boat we were towing. When we
originally arrived to help them a police water
cruiser arrived right before us and started towing them. So we thought our services were no longer needed so we hit the sandbar for a while. After about 30 minutes we hit the river to head back home. Just as we were approaching the Cass Street bridge, which divides Minn. from Wisc. we received another phone from the stranded boat saying the police cut them lose and they needed a tow the rest of the way.
Apparently the police's
jurisdiction ended at the river, so they just gave up. Why don't they do that with speeding tickets?

The Cass Street bridge in the distance.

All of us relaxing while we strolled down the Mississippi towing another boat of merrymakers.
