Singing the Blues

Lately, Heather and I have been singing children's tunes to help Isaac calm down and go to sleep at night. Heather and I will both be the first people to admit that we were not blessed with good singing abilities but my confidence took another hit recently when I was attempting to put Isaac to sleep with a soothing rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle little star. Isaac rolled over and I thought to myself, "Awe, he wants to see his daddy singing him a song." That is when he reached out and put a hand over my mouth to stop my signing. Man, even a 18 month old child doesn't like my singing. He has since done the same thing to Heather so I don't feel quite so bad.

That's awesome!

Evie does this thing where she is falling asleep and she starts smiling whimsically and almost laughs....then she wakes up and looks at me intently with a serious frown on her face. She did this repeatedly one night and I was starting to take it personally until she did it to Jack too.
