Preparing for winter

I got this for my birthday. Just trying it out to make sure it fits and is warm enough.
I feel like I should be hunting something, I know, where is Stanley?

Bath Time Fun!

How do you like my hair?
Look mom, I grew a horn!
Soap cornrows anyone? Its all the rage.
Purple Nine, yummy.

Pants? Who needs pants, its my birthday!

Where are my pants? Who cares, its my birthday!
Hey are those balloons for me?

Its my birthday and I will cry if I want to! Take this stupid thing off.

Isaac is 1!!

I can't believe it. Isaac turned one on October 12, 2008. This past year has gone by faster than any other year of my life. We have watched our helpless newborn grow into a incredibly fast toddler. I am really glad we took lots of pictures because I honestly can't believe he is growing up so fast.

Isaac digging into his first cake. He was quite tame compared to what I though he would do to it.
He did get the hang of it eventually and started stuffing his face.
Here he is sitting in his new chair. Umm, apparently we still have some work ahead of us.

Some of the people who attended his 1st birthday. We had close to 50 family and friends at the party. Thank you all for your attendance.

Garage Sale Junkies

Heather's parents are garage sale junkies. Here they are coming back from a neighborhood sale with about a dozen puzzles.

Here comes a monster...wait how is my hair?

Oh my god, here comes Monster Isaac!
Hey, I know you. Daddy, how did you get under there?

I will get you!
Wait, how is my hair? It needs to be perfect before you take a picture.
Just a little more on the side.
Perfect! How about the wave on the side of my head. It is the new style, I swear.
I had to include this picture. It made Heather and I laugh. We call it a "Special Needs Picture of Isaac." Proof that even Isaac has a bad picture day.

Relaxing with Mommy

Isaac snuggling with Mommy. This is a rare event these days. Normally he is running mach 5 throughout the house. We really enjoy our cuddle time with him now.

Heather's Birthday! Ferberts anyone?

Heather celebrated her birthday at the Nitty Gritty with some friends. Isaac was a little cranky that night. She turned 29, next year is the big 30!

Family Picture

Isaac loves his swing. If he is a bad mood all we have to do is put him in his swing and keep pushing. Unfortunately, for yours truly, if he sees his swing from the window in the house he has been known to throw a fit until we take him out there to swing. Not too bad right now, but come winter I might have to hide the swing in a pile of snow.

Isaac loves to give mommy ferberts. For those who don't know what a ferbert is, it is similar to a raspberry. Still confused? Ok, it is when you put your lips on someones stomach and blow to make a noise similar to a fart. We have no idea how Isaac learned to do this but one day he lifted up mommy's shirt and gave her a ferbert. What are they teaching him at daycare????!

Gus says Happy Birthday!

Gus Gus, our friendly sheepdog is wishing Isaac a Happy Birthday!

My boy is mobile!

I don't think I ever made an official post but Isaac is a walking/climbing machine. He started walking around nine and a half months. Now he has reach the stage of running and climbing anything that he can reach. His curiosity is boundless. If he can reach a drawer he opens it, grabs whatever looks like fun and runs off. I have lost count of the time Heather or I had to run down the hall to grab something he had snagged and was trying to escape with or eat.
Here he is right before a snatch and flee attempt.
Isaac is starting to ham it up for the camera. Here he is with Nonnie and Grandpa getting ready to watch the Packers play. Go Pack! Isaac is brandishing a nice Packer sweater vest. I think he has nicer clothes than I do.

Oktoberfest!

Yeah!!! We made it back to LaCrosse/Onalaska for Oktoberfest this year. We missed it last year because Heather was set to deliver Isaac to the world anytime. It is always a good time for three reasons. #1 lots of our friends come back for the event. #2 They have numerous beer tents and never run out of beer. And finally, #3 The parade provides a great excuse to drink beer and people watch. It can be quite entertaining.

This was a new addition to the parade. The OktoberBREAST float. On the side of the float is a bunch of newly added bras. I think the float is suppose to raise awareness for breast cancer but it does it in a naughty way. Go Breast Cancer Awareness Marketing Team! There has to be a frat boy or two on that team. That or the organizer for Marti Gra.

Team Anderson: Mike, Rachel, and Mitch, throw Momma Anderson in their and you have one hell of a beer drinking team.
My brother Matt and his wife Tyra joined us for the parade. Matt played the role of a good younger brother and made sure I ate some food during the parade instead of drinking my lunch.
My friend Shawn. He was in a case race with a few other fellas. He came up with the mind blowing idea of attaching the case to his pants with his belt. Not only was his beer always close, but it also provided a place to set his beer when he need to pee. Who said college doesn't pay off?

The weekend did have a little creepyness to it. We decided to go to the north side fest grounds later that night. Normally we stick to the south side fest grounds were most of the younger crowd hangs out. We should have stuck with that plan. The north side fest grounds were more than a little scary. I will spare you the gory details and sum it up in one sentence. Men and Women past the age of 50 dressing and drinking like they were in their 20's. Imagine a college party with a 50 + age demographic. Not that they aren't allowed to have fun, I just wasn't ready to see it.
