Munich Day 3

The roll of toilet paper in our hostel. I bet you would only need two rolls a year. The only problem with this one is that it wasn't attached to the wall. So you would take some off and then have to rebalance this gigantic roll on a small section of the holder.

After the hostel we checked into a 5 star hotel for the last couple of nights in Germany. This is the bathroom on the main floor of the hotel. Quite the fancy sink for washing your hands.

A cool statue of a lion.
Heather and I by the lion.
Heather and Annie trying on sunglasses at D&G. The ones they are wearing cost about 300-400 dollars. Ouch!

Just a German dude walking around in lederhosen.

Frauenkirche is the largest church in the Bavarian capital of Munich.

The Glockenspiel in marienplatz. It chimes at 11am everyday and the clockwork mechanism runs the figures that act out a joust and dance.
More of the glockenspiel
The dancers.
There are so many building undergoing restoration that they have devised a way to make buildings look attractive while they undergo restoration. This building in the picture is covered by a tarp that is painted to look like the building once the restoration is completed. That way they can take years to restore the building without the ugly construction. They also put advertisements on them.

We went to a local market to get lunch. This is a butcher shop with lots of choices of meat.

After lunch we had some beer and played some Yuchre

Dan decided we needed to have a liter race. It has been a long time since I have chugged beer. Dan beat me to the bottom, but we were both winners!

A liter of German beer, cards, a nice summer day with friends. A perfect vacation day.
We also spied a nun drinking beer. Gotta love Germany!
